I have used some line drawings of Roman and Greek style columns to begin my classical architecture portfolio. I have avoided the ones with the extremely fancy ornaments on top in favour of simplicity. I am not totaly sure I have used the correct name. So don't sue me.
The following is a test to see how the column works using a few "fronting" a buidling. No anti-aliasing so they look a bit rough.
I like creating lights and the appropriate fixtures to attach or stand them on. This is a very simple standard lamp. I was testing to see if the light shone up as well as down. The joy of CSG!
This is a start at the period pieces that will be needed to complete anything worthwhile. A plain'ish sort of fire surround. I am not sure if the relative proportions of the mantel to the back riser for the mantel are correct. This is why I need to get pictures or design documents that show all of these things in more detail.
But I do think that it shows some real promise. This basic design could be augmented with more detail to produce a more intricate version. I am not certain if you can do any kind of versioning in Moray though... Maybe I shall check later and see.
So I have made a start on the necessary collection of objects and general bic-a-brac required to make any scene look real. Obviously there is still a long way to go until I have sufficient to combine them into something worth looking at. I guess, keep watching this space ... :-)
