We believe in life before death.  Do you?

Christian Aid is the official agency of 40 church denominations in the U.K. and Ireland.  Christian Aid works where the need is greatest in more than 60 countries worldwide, regardless of religion or race.  We link directly with the poor through local organisations whose programmes aim to strengthen the poor by enabling them to become self sufficient. We also seek to combat the root causes of poverty and to campaign for long term change in attitudes and structures in the U.K. and Ireland.

Campaigning is an essential part of Ch. Aid's work with the poor. We believe that it is only by changing the unfair structures that create and perpetuate poverty that we can hope to make a real difference to people's lives.

More information on the Break the Chains campaign to cancel Third World Debt, or Global Supermarket campaign to ensure the people who grow and produce our food also receive a fair deal, can be obtained from the Christian Aid Web Site www.christian-aid.org.uk

Money is also specifically raised in response to emergency situations and national disasters such as Hurricane Mitch or the present terrible floods in southern Africa , Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
