"I am the Light of the world". Have we ever stopped to think of that staggering claim made by the Lord Jesus Christ? Our Christmas festival in the western world puts so much stress on light : candles, Christmas tree illuminations, street decorations. For so many, these lights are all part of their "Xmas". They have never heard of the Lord Jesus who claimed to be the Light of the world. How will they ever discover Him? By seeing the reflection of His light in the people who call themselves by His Name. He said to His followers, "You are the light of the world....You must let your light shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven". As God’s people, are we allowing the light of Christ to banish all the "darkness" in us? Let’s make it our one ambition to direct others - our family, friends, neighbours, colleagues - to the Light of the world, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. With all good wishes and joy to you at this Christmas season,

Yours in Christ, Shirley A. Fraser
