St George's-Tillydrone Church of Scotland

Statement of Aims

Our aim is to know Jesus Christ and make Him known.

We believe in one God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - who actively works through His people today. In God's love we offer welcome and acceptance for everyone, caring for the individual, encouraging each other in faith and service. As a worshipping church we seek to honour God in every aspect of our lives. We seek to encourage one another in developing a way of life that is totally pleasing to God, in personal devotion, and in the giving of our time, money and abilities. We recognise the importance of meeting together on Sundays and throughout the week for praise, prayer and teaching from God's Word, seeking to grow in obedience to Him.

We aim to share with all in our parish, that hope and not despair, life and not death, love and not selfishness have triumphed and can triumph for all through Jesus Christ; to listen as a church for the needs of the community, city and society; responding with prayerful concern and practical involvement.

We have been enriched by Christians from other churches and nations and we share our resources, through partnership in mission and support for the wider Christian work.
